Make a black background and a dynamic text box. Create up and down button and a movie clip called 'controller_mc' by adding the static text called 'Controller'. Place the controller off the stage. Make the parameters of the text box the same as above.
Open the controller by double clicking on it, and add a new layer with the five key frames. Then to the key fifth keyframe add the above Action Script.
Assign this code to the simple up and down buttons you made.
Go into the key frame on the time line and assign the Actions as 'text = "paragraph data" '. Between the quotes will be the text that you want to scroll.
Hit Cmd + Enter (Ctrl + Enter on a PC) to check you movie.
